This place has since moved to 86 Dalhousie Street and has been renamed 'Pantry Cafe'. I had seen this place multiple times and decided to give it a try. Boy am I glad I did! The place is really big, with ample room for moving and sitting. When you first walk in, there are really comfortable couches, with newspapers available, it is a great lounging area! The tables are cute and are far away from each other to allow for some privacy when dining. The menu selection is great! There are tons of items to choose from, and everything is made fresh.They have everything from omelettes to sandwiches to coffee and ice cream. I chose the chicken bruschetta panini with ceasar salad. The cost isn't too bad, only about $10, but it was well-worth it! I sat down and had to wait, maybe about 8 minutes, and the dish came. The server apologized as she had forgotten that they didn't have any croutons for my salad, so she gave me extra bacon, what a great touch! The bacon was good too, it wasn't that processed stuff, it was actually real bacon. The sandwich was AMAZING! It had cheese, lettuce, tomato, pesto sauce, and mayonnaise; the chicken was nice and moist, it was hot (temperature wise) and crunchy. The service is amazing as well, all of the people who work there are friendly and kind. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend you all try this place, you won't be disappointed! Read more

I've visited this little sub and ice cream shop many times and it always has me feeling very satisfied, and warm inside cause I was able to help out a small mom and pop shop. The man working here, whom I've yet to get his name is a vibrant heat warming fella'. Very friendly, makes you feel like a regular. The food, great! I can't believe anyone would rate this place poorly, for what it is its FANTASTIC. I've tried almost all the subs on the menu, my most recent visit I got the rib sub for myself, loaded it up with all the toppings, made a huge mess eating it and loved every minute of it. Its places and eats like this that make life all worth while, yes its a big statement I know but its truly a gem. Something has to be done right to get consistent high ratings. I was shocked to see someone write a poor review on this place knowing full well what they were getting into. These are the comfort foods that are hard to come by in this day and age with big franchised companies saturating the industry. From street meat to racks of lamb, I've had it all and this place gets my approval! I will be coming back and I'm bringing a crowd. Wheres Anthony Bourdain when you need him? p.s. Had the Jacs sub for dinner last night. The Jalapeno cheese bread is Fantastic, there was lots of meat and tasted very fresh. Toppings and sauces were all free and they have a grill which I prefer over just toasting. Great staff and the new owner is very friendly. Will be back again to try the shack. Read more

It was my choice. Anywhere I wanted to go for my birthday dinner was the plan. It had been over 10 years since I last ate at the Charcoal Steak House, so that was it. We made reservations early and were seated at a booth. The restaurant was very dark, which bothered one of my guests, but I loved it. A very warm atmosphere. Private while sitting in a room full of other diners. We chose the Crab Cakes for our appetizer. They were delicious. Perfectly crusted with panko, soft and tender on the inside. A nice tartar sauce served on the side. The dish also came with a side of pickled cucumber, which I was not a fan of, but my guests loved. Looking over the menu, we made the obvious choices being in a steak house. The prime rib special, the Nebraska Rib-Eye and the King City Rib-Eye. The Prime Rib was great. Soft and juicy, but my guest had an issue. She ordered well done, but it was served medium. She still ate it, and loved it, but was not given what she ordered. My other guest loved the King-City Steak. Served with Sweet Potato Fries. I sampled a bite or two of her steak, and it tasted better than my Nebraska cut. The steak I chose, the Nebraska Rib, was wonderful. But again, the kitchen was a little off with the cooking. I ordered medium, and was served well done. Regardless, it still was one of the best steaks I've ever had. The ends of the steak had that perfect crunchy crust that everyone loves on a Rib Steak. We passed on dessert, seeing I had a cake at home waiting. After chatting to our waitress, my guest let it slip that it was my birthday, before the bill came she brought out a peice of Mint Ice Cream Cake free of charge. I appreciated that. Read more
